Zhu
Shihua received the B.Sc. degree in Radiotechnics
in 1982 from XiĄŻan Jiaotong University, China, and the M.Sc.
degree in Telecommunication Systems in 1984, the Ph.D. degree
in Electronic Systems Engineering in 1987, both from the University
of Essex, UK.
Since 1987, he has been with XiĄŻan Jiaotong University where
he is now a professor in the Department of Information and
Communications engineering and the vice president of the university.
He is also an advisory panelist of the National Natural Science
Foundation of China, an advisory panelist of the State Teaching
Guidance Commission of China (electronics and information
session), and is on the Academic Board of the China Institute
of Communications (CIC). He currently serves on the editorial
board of ACTA ELECTRONICA SINICA. He is the CIC Fellow and
the vice chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial Communications
Society.
He worked in the Department of Information Engineering, the
Chinese University of Hong Kong as a visiting researcher between
May 1993 and August 1993, March 1994 and August 1994, June
1995 and September 1995. He worked in the Department of Electrical
and Computer Engineering, University of Waterloo, Canada as
a visiting associate Professor between June 1996 and December
1996, a visiting Professor between October 1998 and October
1999.
His research interests are in mobile communications, digital
switching, and computer networks, especially in multiple user
detection, multiple input multiple output system (MIMO), power
control, space-time coding, turbo coding, orthogonal frequency
division multiplexing (OFDM). He has involved in more than
30 research projects including some supported by the National
Science Foundation of China and by the National High Technology
Research and Development (863) Project of China. He won more
than 10 research, teaching and book awards. He is also a patent
holder. He has authored 4 books and published more than 130
papers.
