Zhang Huanguo was born in June, 1945. He is a professor and PhD director of Computer School in Wuhan University. His research interests include information security, trusted computing, fault tolerant computing and computer application.

He is a member of the Council of China Cryptology Federation, program co-chair of the Committee of Fault Tolerant Computing of China Computer Federation and area editor committee member of China Science Journal.

His main achievements include:
1. Publish over 100 research papers and 6 literatures.
2. As the leading specialist, create the first major of ¡°information security¡± (undergraduate, graduate, doctor and postdoctor program) in China.
3. Theoretical achievements: propose the idea of Evolutionary Cryptosystem and the method to design cipher with Evolution Computing. Succeed in evolutionally designing S_Box of DES, Bent function, and HASH function. Based on studying the security of FAPKC, succeed in breaking FAPKC0 and one instance of FAPKC3 and develop the theory of FAPKC security. Propose the concept of Variable-length errors detecting code and use it in detection of computer virus. Deeply study in Byte errors correcting code and some theoretical product has been used in mainframe YinHe¢ò.
4. Cooperate with corporation and create the first ¡°trusted computer¡± in China which has been awarded as ¡°national key & innovative product¡± by Ministry of Science and Technology of the People¡¯s Republic of China, Ministry of Commerce of the People¡¯s Republic of China, State Quality Supervisory Administration of China and State Environment Protection Administration of China.
5. Create different kinds of information security and computer application products to achieve tremendous benefits for corporations.
