Li Shihe, born in 1941 in Chongqing, China. He got his PH.D degree in University of Montreal, Canada, 1982. Now he is a professor and the Vice President and CTO in Datang Mobile Communication Company.

In 60 to 70¡¯s, he got distinguish contribution in phase array, shaped reflector microwave antenna, low loss microwave ferrite material and devices, etc. In early of 80¡¯s, his contribution is in six-port microwave network analysis. In mid of 80¡¯s, his responsibility is to develop solid state digital microwave relay systems and satellite earth stations in the 4th research institute, MPT.

From mid of 80¡¯s, his R/D activities are in mobile telecommunication. In early 90¡¯s, he and his team developed the 1st analog cellular phone in China and won the 1st class price in tech progress by MPT, China in 1993. From 1994, he has been developing the SCDMA technology based on smart antenna. The SCDMA_WLL system is approved by MPT in 1997 and won the 1st class of price in tech progress by MII and national government in 1999 and 2000 respectively. Based on this, he and his team drafted the TD-SCDMA RTT as a candidate proposal for IMT-2000, which now is approved as one of the RTT in IMT-2000. By the same time, the prototype of TD-SCDMA system is developing under his leadership. He published 3 books and more than 70 papers, and he fired more than 10 patents in USA and China.
