Prof.
Fan Changxin was born in Beijing, China, in
1931. He received his BSc. Degree from Peking University in
1952. Since then he has been working in Xidian University,
China, in the area of communications and signal processing.
Currently, he is an advisor for Ph. D. students in Xidian
University, a member of Radio Frequency layout consultant
committee, Ministry of Information Industry, China. His pioneer
work in analogue and digital communication systems helped
to accomplish China's several important communication infrastructure
projects. He authored several important textbooks in the areas
of digital communications and communications systems contributed
greatly to the higher education in Chinese universities and
graduate schools, which remains to be the best seller in China
now. Professor Fan is holding numerous important academic
positions in China, such as a Fellow of China Communication
Society, a Fellow of Chinese Electronics Society, a Fellow
of IEE and a Fellow of IEEE. He was the Chair of the academic
committee of China National Key Laboratory on Integrated Services
Networks, and the Chair of IEEE XiĄŻan Sub-section of China,
and is currently a member of IEE International Membership
Advisory Committee. He has been a visiting Professor to UCLA,
UCSB, University of Colorado, and University of Surry. |
