Prof.
Cao Zhigang, Graduated from the Department
of Radio Electronics at Tsinghua University, Beijing, China
in 1962. He was a visiting scholar at Stanford University
from 1984 to 1986, and a visiting scholar at Hong Kong University
of Science and Technology in 1997. Since 1962, he has been
with Tsinghua University, where he is now a professor of Electronic
Engineering Department, deputy director of the State Key Laboratory
on Microwave and Digital Communications, member of Academic
Committee of Tsinghua University, and vice chair of distance
learning expert committee of the Education Ministry of China.
He is the author and co-author of 6 books and has published
more than 270 papers on Communications and Signal Processing,
and holds 3 patents. One book was awarded the first prize
of best engineering textbooks in China. For his research achievements
he obtained eight awards from National Science Congress, Ministry
of Electronic Industry, State Education Commission, Ministry
of Education, Beijing Municipal government, etc. He was also
awarded the special allowance issued by the Chinese government
due to his contributions on teaching and research.
His current research interests include Mobile Communications,
Satellite Communications, Modulation/Demodulation, Coding/Decoding,
and Digital Signal Processing.
Prof. Cao is a fellow of Chinese Institute of Communications
(CIC) and serves as a vice chairman of Academic Committee
of CIC. He is also a senior member of IEEE, overseas member
of IEICE, senior member of Chinese Institute of Electronics
(CIE), member of New York Academy of Sciences, member of the
board of directors of Beijing Communication Institute, and
member of the board of directors of China Satellite Communication
Broadcasting & Television Association. He also serves
an editor of Chinese Journal of Electronics, ACTA Electronica
Sinica, China Telecommunications Construction and Satellite
& Network.
